Accessibility status
We are working to ensure that all pages of our website conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Most areas of the site are accessible, but we are aware of the following limitations:
-
Legacy PDF files may not be fully accessible to screen reader users.
-
Referral forms may currently pose accessibility challenges and is under review for improvement.
- Older webpages pages may not display correctly on mobile devices.
- Historic videos may not have captions.
We are working to address these issues and welcome your feedback.
Customising your experience
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
You can amend the system settings on your computer to adjust appearance across all apps and pages. On Windows, go to settings, then ease of access. On Mac, go to system settings, then accessibility. You can also add extensions to Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Edge to change the appearance of websites.
Most modern browsers and devices allow you to adjust how websites appear and behave. Here’s how you can customise your browsing experience:
- Zoom in and out: Use control (Windows) or command (Mac) and +, – and 0 to zoom in, out and reset the display. You can also hold control/command and scroll up and down to zoom.
- Changing text size and font: On Edge and Chrome, click the three dots in the right-hand corner. Click settings, then appearance, and adjust the font size or customise fonts. Safari does not have the option to customise fonts, however you can add extensions to the browser which can edit appearance.
- Colours and contrast: On Windows, go to settings, then east of access, then contrast themes. On Mac, go to system settings, then accessibility, then display.
- Read aloud: On Windows, press control + Windows + enter to start Narrator. On Chrome and Safari, right-hand click, then click speech, and start speaking.
- Translation: Open Google Translate in a new tab, click websites and paste the URL. Then select your chosen language on the top menu bar.
